Presenter

Claim one of the six themes with about 200 words — paper, performance, reading or screening from your own material. Honorarium from the Graduate School.

Role

Facilitator

Stage the experiment: ticket desk, clerk, silent queue, chair a session, or moderate the debate. Drama, production and organisation count.

Patron

Lend institutional or intellectual patronage — chair, respondent, or senior presence that holds the room without taking a paid presenter slot.

Filmmaker / Press

Film the day and cut the documentary, or cover the Assembly as press. Consent protocol and no-camera markers are already designed in.

Audience

Attend in person in Stellenbosch — inside the experiment. Choose how you sit in the room: the one who waits, those who wait with them, or the official who makes others wait.

Presenters: theme bends to your material, not the reverse.

I understand I may be assigned a role and that the Assembly is staged as a social experiment (the door, ticket, form, queue, chair, and wall). I can withdraw from participation by emailing the convenor before the day. Optional: I consent to appearing in documentary footage of the day. I may decline on the day with a no-camera marker; withdrawal from the film before premiere: bo@sun.ac.za.

Privacy: your name, email, affiliation and submission are processed by FormSubmit on behalf of Dr Bo Lyu (controller) solely to organise this Assembly, then stored for the project duration. We do not sell data. To access, correct or delete your data, write to bo@sun.ac.za.

If I have allergies or religious dietary requirements, I will state them in the message field so the convenor can arrange labelled alternatives (the “mysterious food” experiment will not compromise safety).

You get a confirmation e-mail. The convenor is notified at bo@sun.ac.za and on the project inbox (FormSubmit). If the university filter drops the copy, the project inbox still holds it — check spam on both, and whitelist formsubmit.co. A brief anti-bot check may show once.
